Last updated: 15 October 2026. This policy covers the werkmade.com website, the licence server that validates plugin licences, and the data our WordPress plugins send to us. It does not cover the customer data your own shop processes — that stays on your site.
Who is responsible
Werkmade, an independent software developer (sole proprietor), contact support@werkmade.com. Our licence server is hosted in the European Union (Germany).
What we collect and why
- Buying a licence. Payment and invoicing are handled by Creem, which acts as merchant of record — Creem is the seller on your invoice and collects your name, billing address, email and payment details under Creem’s privacy policy. We receive your email address, the product you bought and the licence key from Creem, so that we can give you support and validate your licence.
- Validating a licence. When your WordPress site activates or checks a licence it sends us the licence key, the site URL and — like any web request — your server’s IP address. We keep these to enforce the number of sites a licence covers and to stop abuse. We do not receive any data about your shop’s customers.
- Support. Emails you send us are kept so we can answer and keep a history of the issue.
- Display records. The plugin’s record of what it displayed is stored in your database, on your server. It is yours; we never collect it.
We do not run advertising or profiling on this site, and we do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing.
How long we keep it
- Licence records (key, product, status, expiry, your email, site URL): for the life of the licence and 12 months after it ends, so renewals and support requests work.
- Validation logs (key, action, result, IP, site URL): 12 months, for abuse prevention.
- Support emails: 24 months.
- Invoices and tax records: kept by Creem for the period required by tax law.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email support@werkmade.com and we will answer within 30 days. Deleting your licence record ends any active licence; if you want a copy of the plugin before that, download it first. For payment data, address Creem as the seller on your invoice.
Cookies
This website sets no marketing or analytics cookies. WordPress itself may set a cookie only when you log in, and Creem’s checkout pages (on creem.io) set the cookies needed to take a payment.
