EU Compliance Suite — setup and documentation
Installing the plugin
- Download the plugin zip with your licence key.
- WordPress admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → choose the zip → Install → Activate.
- Open Settings → EU Compliance, paste your licence key and activate it. The page shows the licence status, expiry date and how many sites are activated.
Module B — legal guarantee notice and the EU GARAN label
The notice is shown once per shop, not per product. The Commission’s practical guidelines describe it as a general reminder: a sentence that opens the full official notice on the first click. In the settings you choose where that sentence appears (shop catalogue, product page, cart, checkout) and you can also place it yourself with the eucs/eu-notice block or the [eucs_notice] shortcode.
The GARAN label is per product. Open a product in WordPress admin, find the “EU GARAN label” panel and enter the three things the regulation allows you to fill in: the duration of the producer’s commercial durability guarantee, the brand or trademark, and the model identifier. The label is rendered in the official layout with the official proportions, in colour, with the translations intact; the plugin refuses to render it if the duration is two years or less, because the label may only be used for a guarantee longer than that.
On the product page the label appears as the compact nested version, which expands to the full label on a click, and the customer is linked to the European Commission’s commercial-guarantee page — the same destination as the label’s QR code. Orders also carry the notice in the confirmation email.
Checking the language without a VPN
The language is chosen from the member state the goods are offered in, not from the visitor’s browser settings. In Settings → EU Compliance you can preview any country: pick Germany and you should see the German notice, pick Ireland and you should see English. On the front end, an administrator can force a country for testing by adding ?eucs_sim_country=DE to a product URL.
Module C — statutory warnings
Warnings are attached per product from the official library (currently the toy warnings of Annex V to Directive 2009/48/EC: 10 warning categories, 253 official texts in 23 of the 24 official EU languages; Directive 2009/48/EC applies until 1 August 2030, when Regulation (EU) 2025/2509 replaces it). You choose which warnings apply, the plugin shows the language version that matches the country of sale, and the same content is added to the order confirmation email. If a language has no official text for a warning, the plugin says so instead of inventing a translation.
Display records
Every display is recorded on your own site: which surface, which language, which country (from the order, or from geolocation on the store front), the reason for the language choice, and a fingerprint of the content that was shown. The records stay in your database and can be exported as CSV — useful when a marketplace or a customer asks what your shop showed and when.
